WOCN Members Announced as Inductees for The American Academy of Nursing 2020 Class of Fellows The American Academy of Nursing (Academy) announced it has selected 230 distinguished nurse leaders to join the 2020 Class of Fellows. The inductees will be recognized for their significant contributions to health and health care at the Academy’s annual Transforming Health, Driving Policy Conference, taking place virtually October 29-31, 2020. We are pleased to announce three of our very own WOCN members have been selected and will be inducted to the Academy 2020 Class of Fellows! Please join us in congratulating the following WOCN members on this marvelous recognition for their outstanding nursing leadership accomplishments. Jill Cox, PhD, RN, APN-c, CWOCN Rutgers University Barbara Delmore, PhD, RN, CWCN, MAPWCA, IIWCC-NYU NYU Langone Health Catherine Ratliff, PhD, GNP-BC, CWOCN, CFCN University of Virginia Health System The Academy is currently comprised of more than 2,700 nursing leaders who are experts in policy, research, administration, practice, and academia that champion health and wellness, locally and globally. Through a competitive, rigorous application process, a committee of elected Fellows review hundreds of applications and select new Fellows based on their contributions to advance the public’s health. Induction into the Academy is a significant milestone in a nurse leader’s career in which their accomplishments are honored by their colleagues within the profession. This will be the Academy's first ever virtual induction ceremony. Because of the format of this event, colleagues, friends, and family members who may not have been able to attend the event in person previously will have the option of cheering on this year's Fellows virtually. This year’s induction ceremony, which will feature personalized video vignettes of each inductee, will be a special way to recognize the new Fellows in a year where the global pandemic challenges traditional ways of celebration.
